Gila County Arrest Records

Requestors must tick the box marked "Non-Commercial Purpose Public Record" on the Records Request Information Form. The first copy of an arrest report is available at no charge to the victim of a crime. Requestors who are non-victims must pay $8 for the first 20 pages of an arrest report, and 25cents for subsequent pages.

Crime Statistics

According to the Crime Report compiled by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Gila County had a net total of 1830 crimes in 2018. The reported criminal offenses consisted predominantly of property crimes. Larceny theft was the most reported offense with about 982 reported incidents in that year, and burglary followed with 290 reported incidents. The third most occurring offense and highest violent crime was aggravated assault, with a record of 381 reported cases. There were 139 recorded cases of motor vehicle theft, 16 cases of robbery, and 10 cases of rape. Arson was the least recorded offense in the year with 8 reported cases. There was no record of human trafficking.

Gila County criminal records consist of various information on the criminal history of individuals in the County. At the County level, the Gila County Sheriff's Office Records Unit maintains and issues criminal records. Gila County Sex Offender Information

The Gila County Sherriff's Office maintains a central repository for sex offenders who reside in the County. The Arizona Revised Statute requires sex offenders to register and regularly update their information with the Sheriff of the County they live within 72 hours after their release from custody or after moving to a new location. Sex offenders who reside in Gila County can register and update their information at the Gila County Sheriff's Office in Globe or the Gila County Sheriff's Office Substation in Payson.

At the state level, the Arizona Department of Public Safety maintains an online database of all intermediate and high-risk sex offenders. Persons convicted of certain sex offenses on or after June 1, 1996, are subject to community notification. The public can search online for registered sex offenders by inputting a specific address, name, or city of the sex offender.

How to Visit an Inmate at the Gila County Jail

The Gila County Sheriff's Office runs the jail. Inmates become eligible for visitation after their initial appearance before a Judge or Magistrate. Family members and friends of Inmates at the Gila County Jail are allowed to visit them. Visitors must conduct themselves properly and abide by specific rules listed online. Visitors less than 18 years are not permitted inside the facility unless accompanied by adults. All visitors must present valid government-issued picture identification and must be appropriately dressed. Persons who wish to obtain information about inmate visits at the Gail County Jail can search online or call (928) 402-8666 for the jail in Globe or (928) 468-2835 for the jail in Payson.

The Gila County Jail is in two locations; Globe and Payson. Both facilities house persons charged or convicted of crimes of all types within Gila County. Gila County Court Records

Gila County court records are public documents. They include case files for domestic-relations, divorce, child support cases, and civil, criminal, probate, and guardianship matters. They also include court-ordered adult and juvenile assessments, marriage licenses, fee records, bail bonds, and appearance bonds. A requester must provide the case number or detailed information of the case and the specific record requested. The documents cost 50 cents per page and $30 for certification. Generally, requestors receive reports through email, but those who wish to receive by post must pay a postage fee of $7. Gila County Vital Records

Gila County's vital records consist of a collection of birth, death, marriage, and other essential events in the County. Certified copies of these vital records are maintained and issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Vital Records at the state level and by the Gila County Office of Vital Records at the county level. Gila County Marriage Records

The clerk of the Gila County Superior Court issues Marriage Licenses to persons who conduct their marriages in the County. Requestors can obtain certified copies of marriage certificates at a fee of $30, by sending a mail to the:

Requestors must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope in the mail or pay extra $7 for postage and handling if they do not include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with their requests. Requestors must also include the name of the parties.

Gila County Birth Records

Gila County Office of Vital Records issues certified birth certificates for births that took place in Gila County. The requestor must be 18 years of age or older and must present valid government-issued picture identification. The requestor must pay a fee of $20 per certified copy.

Gila County birth records are not open to the public, and only a few persons can gain access to them like persons named on the birth certificate, spouse, natural or adopted offspring, parents, grandparents, grandchild, siblings, aunt, and uncle or first/second cousins of persons named on the birth record. Requestors other than parents of the birth records subject must provide proof of relationship and valid legal interest in the certified birth certificate. Also, guardians of a minor can access a certified copy of such a minor's birth certificate. However, the guardian must provide a certified copy of the court order establishing guardianship and legal custody. One can find more information on eligibility to request birth records online.

Requestors can also apply online for birth records. Birth certificates older than seventy-five (75) years after a person's birth are available on the Arizona Department of Health Services' website.

Gila County Death Records

Gila County Office of Vital Records issues certified death certificates for persons that died in Gila County. The requestor must be 18 years of age or older and must present valid government-issued picture identification. The requestor must pay a fee of $20 per certified copy. Gila County death records are not open to the public. Requestors can ascertain their eligibility to request death records online.
