Crime Numbers
The Arizona Department of Public Safety publishes annual crime reports for all the counties in the state. Its latest report shows that there were 10 murders, 55 rapes, 64 robberies, and 473 aggravated assaults in Pinal County in 2017. Reported incidences of property crimes include 1,107 burglaries, 3,736 larceny-thefts, 422 motor vehicle thefts, and 53 arsons.
These figures indicate that motor vehicle theft (58.6%) was the only crime to record more cases in 2017 than in 2013. The five-year crime trend for the Pinal County also shows that murder (37.5%), rape (15.4%), robbery (41.3%), aggravated assault (4.6%), burglary (36.6%), larceny-theft (40.1%), and arson (39.8%) rates declined between 2013 and 2017.
Pinal County Criminal Records
The Criminal History Records Section of the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) allows individuals to request their own criminal history records. The accepted purpose of this background check is to review your criminal record for accuracy and completeness. Start by requesting a Record Review Packet from the Criminal History Records Section by calling (602) 223-2222. This packet contains a blank fingerprint card, contact information and instructions, and a pre-addressed return envelope. Alternatively, you can download the instructions, fingerprint card, and contact information sheet on the DPS website.
Print the fingerprint card and take it to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office for fingerprinting. The Records Unit of the Sheriff’s Office offers this service. Its address is 31 N. Pinal Street, Florence, Arizona. Fingerprinting is available from Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. It costs $5.
Complete the fingerprint card with identifying details after having your fingerprints rolled onto it. Write RECORD REVIEW in the space allocated for the reason for fingerprinting. Mail the fingerprint card and a completed contact information sheet to:

Pinal County Police Reports
The Records Unit of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office maintains all police reports and accident reports generated by the officers of the law enforcement agency. You can view police reports and other public records from the Sheriff’s Office for free online at https://pinalcosoaz.govhelper.com/ and also in person at the Records Unit (address listed above). Schedule an appointment by calling (520) 866-5193 or sending an email to pcsorecords@pinalcountyaz.gov. You can also request copies of these records in person, online, or by email. The Sheriff’s Office charges $7.50 for police reports that are up to 25 pages. For longer documents, there is an additional fee of 50 cents per page after 25 pages. Each CD of photo, audio, and video records costs $15.
Accident reports for Pinal County are available from www.crashdocs.org. However, reports for traffic accidents resulting in death or serious injuries as well as those related to DUI are not available on that website. You can only request for these at https://pinalcosoaz.govhelper.com/. Victims of traffic accidents involving criminal offense (DUI) are entitled to one free copy of the report. Request this copy by sending an email to pcsorecords@pinalcountyaz.gov.
Pinal County Sex Offenders
The DPS maintains a statewide database of registered sex offenders living in Arizona. By state law, this database is available to the public. Search the Arizona Sex Offender Registry to find offenders by name and email address. Find those living in Pinal County by searching with zip codes, city names, and street addresses in the county.

To obtain copies of court records, complete the Request for Court Records Form. The Clerk of the Superior Court charges 50 cents per page for copies of court records and $30 for copy certification. There is an additional $7 for shipping and handling and an optional $30 search fee per year for requests without case numbers.

Vital Records
The Family Court division of the Superior Court hears divorce or dissolution of marriage cases in Pinal County. The Clerk of Court maintains divorce records (Decrees or Dissolution of Marriage) generated by this court. Since these are court records, you can obtain copies by submitting a request for court records as described above.
The Pinal County Clerk of Court is also the official responsible for issuing marriage licenses. Use the same Request for Court Records Form to request for copies of a marriage license issued by the Clerk.
Pinal County Vital Records provides birth and death certificates on request. To obtain one of these vital records, visit any of Vital Records office in the county. There are three of these offices and their addresses are:
